Launching the .Asia Domain
DotAsia is a pioneer in designing and implementing a comprehensive Sunrise and Landrush process that resulted in an orderly and stable introduction of the “.Asia” domain into the social and technical fabric of the global Internet. By adopting an innovative auction mechanism to resolve contentions for domains during the Sunrise and Landrush process, along with dedication and hardwork in engaging the community in an extensive and open policy development process, DotAsia accomplished an extraordinarily high 95% success rate for Sunrise Applications and a remarkable record of zero disputes received throughout the entire startup process (including the Pioneer Domains Program, Sunrise and Landrush).

DotAsia’s continued commitment to the balanced protection of rights and the maintaining of the integrity of the .Asia registry won high accolades from the industry and the community around the world. The .Asia Pioneer Domains Program and the .Asia Startup Auctions set new benchmarks in the industry.

The Sunrise phases which commenced in October 2007, and the Landrush which ran between February and March 2008 along with the corresponding auction processes are now complete and the .Asia Registry has now been accepting first-come-first-served domain registrations since March 26, 2008.
